China scholar David M. Robinson offers a sample of ingredients used in the imperial kitchen during one month: “ground squirrels from beyond the Great Wall, Manchurian pine nuts, Shangxi apples, Jiangxi sugar, Zhang-Beijing potatoes, Nanjing ‘hawk-beak’ bamboo sprouts from Mount Wudang…and Lu’an tea.” - Quoted in 1616: The World In Motion by Thomas Christensen.

I want to go to there.

Made myself a new cutout badge since my other one is a few years old now! :3 Happy with how it turned out

Hi tumblr, I’m back from the island and am as broke as ever! For anyone who may be interested I’ll be taking one cutout commission in this style/complexity for $45. I know it sounds like alot but they essentially take an entire day to complete.
If you are interested or have any questions you can email me at bkomadowski@gmail.com!
Signal boosts are greatly appreciated <3

Totally worth it. That is the cutest style. :)

In contrast to the curved surface on the river side, the southwest façade is an uncompromisingly rectangular glass-clad curtain wall. It faces a large square public space that opens toward the Île de la Cité and Notre Dame. Visible behind the glass wall, a metallic screen unfolds with moving geometric motifs. The motifs are actually 240 photo-sensitive motor-controlled apertures, or shutters, which act as a sophisticated brise soleil that automatically opens and closes to control the amount of light and heat entering the building from the sun. The mechanism creates interior spaces with filtered light — an effect often used in Islamic architecture with its climate-oriented strategies.

A beautiful new design in Paris. The Arab World Institute building.

LEGO walf

I WANT THIS

WHERE CAN I SERIOUSLY BUY IT! I need this one for my collection.

He’s actually the torso, pants and accessories from the series 7 minifig computer programmer with the head and hands of the wolfman from the new Monster Fighters theme. I figured he looks better “outside” his day job, so to speak. (:
His room-mate is Series 3 Punk Rocker with a Series 7 Minotaur head. He teaches anthropology at the local community college and plays bass.
